The Citypulse Audio EF-3.01 headphone amplifier utilises a special discrete Class-A output stage and Burr-Brown OPA627 input stages. Other quality components have been used, such as those from Wima, Evox and Rubycon. A dual-mono, oversized power supply has been designed using epoxy resin potted transformers for low noise and stability and the wiring is Teflon insulated. Separate power supply sections are individually shielded to prevent noise escaping. The compact size lends itself to easy placement while being extremely well constructed in an extruded aluminium case.

In a crowded marketplace, it can be difficult for a product from a relatively new company to stand out. The Citypulse EF3.01 is a competently designed product with reasonable build quality. Given the right headphones -- seemingly those with highish impedance -- it is capable of delivering an all-around honest and enjoyable performance. For those listeners who want a little extra power, particularly in the bass, the Citypulse EF3.01 can deliver better than most headphone amplifiers at its price point.
